Over the last 30 years I have mainly worked in the private day care 

sector & strongly believed that when I opened my first nursery (in Hull) 

that I would be led as a child carer therefore ensuring that I was 

operating my childcare setting with the 'child' at the center of everything

 we do.  As our company has expanded over the last few years, my ethos

 is still very much the same with my personal motto being ' Where every 

Child is a Star'.  A bright, precious, priceless sparkle than needs to be 

protected, cared for & allowed to shine!

 BrightStart Day Nurseries currently runs 7 nurseries in the Hull & East

 Riding areas & with a dedicated, hard working staff team have built up a 

childcare organisation that can be trusted over the last 10 years. 

'Quality not Quantity' is our ethos our sites are small as well as individual 

& are supported by a Head Office staff team who are 2nd to none.

All our childcare settings will work to the companies & 

Ofsted's operational requirements, polices & procedures etc, therefore

Angela Proctor


Meet our Head Office Staff Team

Angela Proctor - Managing Director/Proprietor

Angela has been a qualified NNEB for over 30 years & currently holds a level 4 in Nursery Management.  Angela was employed by the company in 2005, before becoming the Managing Director in 2007 & began a programme of expansion.  Angela has always had a strong ethic that private childcare can be a seen a highly regarded profession & aims to ensure that all her employees are supported in their workplaces both within their roles & with further professional development.  Angela also believes that that the highest level of childcare is achieved when there is a holistic partnership between the parent & childcare therefore she actively supports the settings Partnership with Parents policies within the setting & is happy to discuss with parents any feedback they may have which may improve the delivery of the companies services.

Angela's main roles are to manage Human Resources, Business Support & Operations, Marketing & Development & she also acts as the Senior Health & Safety Coordinator of the company.

Alex Napierski - Area Childcare Manager

Alex began her journey with BrightStart as one of our Childcare Managers. Promoted to Area Manager in 2014. Alex supports settings on a  direct basis, embedding practice & supporting mangers with settings developments. Alex will also support settings in Managers absences & to develop & support the transition of newly acquired  settings or the direct training of new nursery managers.

Helen Willey - Operations Manager

Helen joined the company in January 2015. Helen's role is to support the Head Office team in a number of areas.  Helen is our lead in Health & Safety working alongside the nursery staff & Health & Safety professionals to ensure that the very highest of commitment is given to ensure our settings are safe.  Helen also supports in recruitment, administration & personnel.

Kirsty Linford - Area Curriculum Lead/SENDco

Kirsty re-joined the company in June 2017, after returning to Hull. Kirsty had previously worked for the company as a practitioner in 2009 & worked her way up the company to Manager of one of the nurseries for a number of years before leaving the city.
Kirsty's main roles are to support the managers & staff in maintaining & enhancing the delivery of the EYFS in the settings in relation to Learning, Development & Assessment.  Kirsty supports the delivery of training & also supports the settings nominated SENDco's in supporting children in their settings who may need additional support or services to support their needs.

 Gill Norris - Administration/Accounts

Gill began working for the company as a volunteer almost 5 years ago on a part time basis.  Gill mainly deals with invoicing & your childcare accounts.  Gills other roles include some basic secretarial tasks, ordering & dealing with parents payment queries.
